STONE COUNTY, MS. (August 8, 2025) – A head-on collision on Highway 26 killed one person Friday evening.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:20 p.m. on Highway 26. Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to the crash scene.
Officials say a 1999 Mercedes SLK driven by 71-year-old James Tillman of Wiggins was traveling east when it collided head-on with a 1996 GMC Rally.
Tillman was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries.
