MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MS. (August 13, 2025) – A single-vehicle crash on U.S. 82 killed one person Tuesday night near the town of Stewart.
The incident occurred just before 11:00 p.m. on U.S. 82. Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to the crash scene.
Officials say a 1999 Dodge pickup truck driven by 66-year-old Charles H. Martin of Coffeeville was traveling west when it left the roadway and collided with a ditch.
Martin received fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
