JACKSON, MS. (July 23, 2025) – A pedestrian was killed in a motor vehicle collision on Interstate 55 early Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:54 a.m. on I-55 near Adkins Boulevard. Jackson Police Department responded to the scene.
Darren Haley, 43, was struck by a white Chevrolet Equinox traveling northbound on I-55. Haley was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Hinds County Coroner’s Office.
The vehicle’s driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. No charges have been filed at this time.
