The following product safety recall was voluntarily conducted by the firm in
cooperation with the CPSC. Consumers should stop using the product
immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: Lawn Dart Games
Units: About 35
Distributor: John Jaques & Son Ltd., of Edenbridge, England
Hazard: The darts in the games pose a puncture hazard to young children.
Lawn darts were banned in December 1988 to protect children from skull, face
and eye puncture wounds.
Incidents/Injuries: None reported.
Description: The recalled lawn dart game includes four projectiles, each
consisting of a 14 3/4″ bamboo shaft, four fins, and a wooden tip.
Sold at: Kensington Trading Company online and Hammacher Schlemmer online
from March 2006 through July 2008 for about $60.
Manufactured in: China
Remedy: Parents should immediately stop young children from playing with the
recalled games and contact the firm to receive a refund. John Jaques & Son
and Hammacher Schlemmer are contacting customers directly.
