Euro-Pro and QVC Recall Deep Fryers Due to Burn Hazard
The following product safety recall was voluntarily conducted by the =
firm in cooperation with the CPSC. Consumers should stop using the product
immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of Product: Cooks Essentials Deep Fryers
Units: About 1,600
Retailer: QVC Inc., of West Chester, Pa.
Distributor: Euro-Pro Operating LLC, of Newton, Mass.
Hazard: The fryers can overheat, posing a burn hazard.
Incidents/Injuries: No injuries have been reported.
Description: The recalled fryers include QVC Cook Essentials 3 Liter
Stainless Steel Deep Fryers with three baskets. The fryers were sold as
itemnumber K14942. Model number F1053Q is printed on a sticker on the bottom
of the fryers.
Sold through: QVC’s televised shopping programs and its Web site from
April 2008 through May 2008 for about $60 including shipping costs.
Manufactured in: China
Remedy: Known purchasers were mailed instructions on obtaining a full
refund. Consumers who have not received instructions should contact QVC
for refund instructions.
